Dr. Sandra Olsen interview appearing on Time-Warner Cable's "Crossroads: Eye on the Arts," July 2nd

UB Art Gallery Director Dr. Sandra Olsen's interview will air July 2nd on Time-Warner Cable's "Crossroads: Eye on the Arts."

Dr. Olsen was interviewed by Crossroads' arts correspondent Marilyn Ciancio on the Time-Warner Cable program, produced by James Braun and hosted by Peter Anderson.

The show airs at 3:00 p.m. (ET) on July 2nd. Dr. Olsen will discuss the history and mission of UB's permanent collection, housed at UB Anderson Gallery. Her interview will focus on the current summer exhibition, Selections from the Permanent Collection, and the program will feature images from the show.

It's on Martha Jackson Place in the University Heights neighborhood of North Buffalo. This is what the building looked like prior to its restoration in the 1980s.

Bingyi, Space Garbage: Bingyi's show will travel to New York City.Bingyi, Space Garbage: Bingyi's show will travel to New York City.Bingyi: The Dawns Here are Quiet closed at UB Art Gallery on May 19th, 2007. The show is traveling to Ethan Cohen Fine Arts in New York City where it will be exhibited from May 31st through June 31st, 2007. These paintings focus largely on media representations of global politics and ideological conflicts pared down to a few enigmatic details. Bingyi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Visual Studies at the University at Buffalo. In addition to her careers as both an artist and educator, she has also worked as a curator for various exhibitions both in the U.S. and China.

Firmin and Julie Joyce (MIT): The book has received national praise.The book "Mudman: The Odyssey of Kim Jones" (MIT University Press, 2007), a monograph edited by Sandra Q. Firmin, curator with the University at Buffalo Art Gallery, and Julie Joyce, director of Luckman Art Gallery, California State University at Los Angeles, is receiving national praise. The book was written to accompany Jones's first retrospective exhibition, "Kim Jones: A Retrospective," which originated at the UB Art Gallery last October and is now on view at the Luckman Gallery through May 19.
