About the Exhibition

New York City, NY- Artists from across the world converge in NYC to present an epic exhibition benefiting families who have lost loved ones due to the Afghan and Iraq wars.

During August 27th- 29th the public is invited to enjoy art and live music, while getting the unique opportunity to meet and mingle with the over 70 participating artists and performers. Fifty percent of all sales will be donated to the NY/NJ chapter of Operation Homefront.

Operation Homefront provides emergency, financial and other assistance to the families of our service members and wounded warriors. A national nonprofit, Operation Homefront leads more than 4,500 volunteers across 23 chapters and has met more than 267,000 needs since 2002.

CONVERGENCE NYC is going to be an exhibition of grand artistic proportions.

Kat Thomsen from ELLE Magazine online writes:

What To Do This Weekend: Art at the Armory

Gathering the myriad talents for this enormous undertaking was no small feat, and attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy live music, DJs, and special performances on top of the art. The event’s curator, Tamara Gabbard, said of the ambitious project, “Like war, art will, and always will, affect people’s lives. I really believe in the positivity of what we’re doing here.”

Venue History: The 1913 Armory Show

The downtown 25th St. and Lexington Ave. Armory was the site of the historic 1913 "Armory Show" in which Picasso, Duchamp, Matisse, and many other artists premiered their ground-breaking work.

CONVERGENCE NYC draws inspiration from this historic event and blends it with today’s edgy aesthetic. Urban art lovers, young professionals, contemporary art collectors, and emerging artists are all invited.

CONVERGENCE NYC builds on the notion that as we unite as an entity, ideas are created and history will be made.
