UB Anderson Gallery, Before: The former School 83 building in North Buffalo's University Heights district.The University at Buffalo Anderson Gallery is housed in the former Public School 83 building. It's on Martha Jackson Place in the University Heights neighborhood of North Buffalo. This is what the building looked like prior to its restoration in the 1980s.

David K. Anderson won an award from the Landmark Society for "adaptive restoration" of the building, which now houses the University at Buffalo's permanent collection.
