The New York City Blender Users's Group and Polytechnic University announce the 2007 New York Blender Conference, at the Polytechnic University Brooklyn campus, Saturday and Sunday October 20th and 21st starting at 10:00am both days. It's free and open to the public.
Blender is a free open source 3D content creation suite, available for all major operating systems under the GNU General Public License. It compares well to software like Maya or 3D Studio Max.
This conference will have a number of activities. There will be courses lead by Blender experts, covering topics for beginners all the way up to professionals; there will be a hacklab where people can work on projects, ask questions, or try out their new skills.
This year, we are going to introduce the unconference structure, an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. If we all put our energies into it, it can be an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants.
