Matthew Collings reviews the new history of art since 1900 by Hal Foster, Rosalind Krauss, Yve-Alain Bois and Benjamin Buchloh: Art Since 1900: Modernism, Antimodernism, Postmodernism for the Guardian.
Generally positive Collings does take exception to the authors' academic political correctness regarding contemporary art but applauds their skillful mix of seriousness and fun when it comes to earlier periods.
Now, if only the thing didn't cost 80 bucks maybe the rest of us might learn something, too. Oh, wait, it's only $53.55 at Amazon. No Super Saver Shipping, though.
