Editions/Artists' Books Fair Benefit: Thursday November 5, X Initiative

E/AB www.eabfair.com is pleased to announce that the Opening Night Preview will take place on Thursday, 5 November, 2009, from 6 to 9 pm at X Initiative, 548 West 22nd Street, between 10th and 11th Avenue. Proceeds will benefit the Annual Exhibition Fund at P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center.

Tickets are $50 and may be purchased in person at P.S.1 or at agnès b. locations throughout NYC, or online at www.ps1.org.
Each ticket is tax deductible in the amount of $30.

This year the evening’s festivities will be highlighted with a special DJ set by Sahra Motalebi and music by AJ Slim.

Founded in 1998 by Susan Inglett of I.C. Editions and Brooke Alexander Editions, the Fair has grown in size and stature to become the premier showcase for contemporary publishers and dealers presenting the latest in prints, multiples and artists' books FREE to the public. The Editions|Artists' Books Fair is well known for its vibrant energy and innovation thanks to over fifty exhibitors, presenting hundreds of artists from New York, Tokyo, Johannesburg, Amsterdam, London, Paris and points in between.

Exclusive to E|AB ‘09, guest curators/artists Robin Kahn and Kirby Gookin of VendorBar will be coordinating a series of Occurrences (Happenings for the 21st Century) to take place throughout the run of Fair. Invited artists will design a limited edition multiple produced daily on site and vended from rolling carts dim sum style. Directly engaging the audience, artists will present actions, exchanges, and services resulting in the production and distribution of their work. Participating artists include ARTifariti- Western Sahara Collective, Mike Bidlo, Gaye Chan & Nandita Sharma, Geoffrey Hendricks, Nancy Hwang & Elaine Tin Nyo, Amanda Keeley, Alison Knowles & Alan Bowman, Cary Leibowitz, Larry Miller, Ken Montgomery & Andrea Beeman, Peter Nadin, Yoko Ono, Tom Otterness, Sal Randolph, Showpaper, and Robert Watts. A highlight of E|AB ‘09 will be a new edition from Yoko Ono, Add Color: Imagine Peace. All visitors will be invited to participate by adding color, imagining peace. Copies of the edition will be available during the Fair.
