This is the image painting project from Joseph Nechvatal's 1991-1993 artist-in-residency at the Louis Pasteur Atelier and the Saline Royale / Ledoux Foundation's computer lab in Arbois, France. It is called: "The Computer Virus Project" and is an experiment with computer viruses as a creative stratagem. He worked on the code with Jean-Philippe Massonie from the Laboratoire MIS at the Université de Franche-Comté.
