Andy Warhol Still Lifes and Feet at PAUL KASMIN

James Kalm Is tipped off by Charlie Finch to visit an exhibition of heretofore unseen Andy Warhol drawings of feet at the Paul Kasmin Gallery. From 1956 till 1961, Warhol filled sketch books with dozens of drawings of bare feet. These drawings accomplished in ballpoint pen, demonstrate a masterful draftsmanship and compositional elegance. The inclusion of small still life elements, milk cartons, model planes and yes, a Campbellā€™s soup can, hint at the approach of Pop.
